The Acai Berry Blast Smoothie Bowl Recipe

(1) 100g pouch of frozen unsweetened pure acai berry puree (I’ve had good luck with Sambazon superfruit pack)

2 large ripe bananas

2 large medjool dates, pitted

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon of fine sea salt

2 tablespoons (28 grams) of your favorite peanut butter

2 tablespoons of ground chia seeds

2 cups of mixed frozen berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries) INSTRUCTIONS


1First, pop your acai packet in the microwave for about 30 seconds to thaw it slightly, or just let it sit on the counter while you gather all your ingredients. Then add your sweeteners to the blender container, the bananas and the dates. Cold dates can be difficult to blend so toss those in first, to create a banana layer between the dates and the frozen fruit.

2Next add the flavorings and the healthy fats: the vanilla, salt, peanut butter and ground chia seeds. Chia seeds are not only a nutrient dense superfood, but also work as an excellent thickener.

3Add the frozen mixed berries and the acai. Securely attach the lid to the container and blend on low, working up to medium speed, util creamy, scraping down the sides as necessary, or by using the tamper (if you have a Vitamix) to push the food down and around toward the blade. This will take about a minute or more, depending on what type of blender you are using.

4Pour the berry blast mixture, which will be the consistency of loose soft serve with seeds from the berries, into three bowls and top with your favorite granola and fresh berries.

5Notes: Make it a blueberry blast by using 2 cups of frozen blueberries.
