Mcdonalds Caramel Macchiato Recipe Recipe

½ cup brewed black coffee

⅙ tsp vanilla extract

½ cup oat milk

3 tbsp caramel syrup, using the recipe below

For the Caramel Syrup

3 tbsp coconut sugar

¼ cup canned full fat coconut milk fall-fat canned coconut milk, not carton. Shake well before using

Pinch salt

For the Topping

Vegan Whipped Cream I use the Gay Lea brand of Vegan Coconut Whipped Cream in a can

Caramel Drizzle There should be leftover caramel syrup after you use up the 3 tbsp


1Add all syrup ingredients into a saucepan over medium heat. Constantly stir it for a few minutes until it becomes a thicker syrup, then set aside.

2To assemble the drink, pour 3 tbsp of caramel syrup into the bottom of the mug. I have step-by-step pictures above, so you can also follow along there.

3Heat milk on the stovetop. Once it's boiling, take it off the heat and froth it using a milk frother. Oat milk works the best for this, because it froths more than other plant based milks I've used.

4Pour the frothed milk over top of the caramel syrup in the mug. Stir it around to mix, otherwise the syrup will be stuck to the bottom.

5Take the espresso and pour it into the mug over top of the milk. Stir it around.

6Use vegan whipped cream to top it off. Drizzle with the remaining caramel syrup (you should have some left over after using the 3 tbsp above).

7Enjoy right away!
