Sugary Sweet Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

DOUGH Ingredients:

490 ml of plant milk

80 g vegan butter

1 tbsp sugar

8g dry yeast

700 g plain flour

pinch of salt

FILLING Ingredients

120 g vegan butter (room temp.)

100 g coconut or brown sugar

2 tbsp ground cinnamon


1Combine plant milk, butter, and sugar in a pot and heat on low to medium heat until butter melted completely. The mixture should be lukewarm when you add in your yeast, leave for 5 min. until the yeast mixture gets foamy.

2Measure the flour and the salt into a bowl and add in the wet ingredients. Mix to combine until a sticky dough form, then cover and leave for an hour.

3Meanwhile, you can prepare the filling. In a medium bowl mix the vegan butter with the remaining filling ingredients until a smooth paste forms, this can take some time.

4Preheat the oven to 180C°. Grease a deep, big baking tin or several small ones with butter.

5When your dough is ready, dust your working surface and turn the dough out. Dust the top of the dough with flour and push out any large air bubbles with your fingertips.

6Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 60cm x 30cm. Spread the dough with the cinnamon filling mixture right to the edges and roll up along the width to form a big long snake. Now slice the rolled dough into 16 individual discs and place them in your baking tin. Cover and leave to rise for 25 minutes at room temp.

7Once risen, place in the oven for 25-35 minutes or until each bun is lightly golden on top. Remove from the oven and allow to cool down a little before taste testing and loving them
