Warm Maple Protein Oatmeal Recipe

1 cup steel-cut oats

3 tablespoons raw shelled hempseed, divided

3 tablespoons maple syrup

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 tablespoon slivered almonds

1 tablespoon currants


1Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large saucepan.

2Add the steel-cut oatmeal, 2 tablespoons hempseed, maple syrup, and cinnamon and bring back to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3Serve in bowls, garnished with almond slivers, currants, and the remaining hempseed.
