Turmeric Ginger Latte (Golden Milk – हल्दी वाला दूध) Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup cashew milk Substitute: another plant-based milk

1-2 tbsp coconut sugar Start with 1 tbsp and add more as desired

¼ tsp vanilla extract You can omit, but I always liked the taste of vanilla in my lattes. I use pure Madagascar non-alcoholic vanilla.

⅛ tsp maca powder Feel free to omit if you don't have this.

heaping ¼ tsp fresh ginger, grated Substitute: ginger powder. Feel free to add more if you like the taste of ginger.

scant ¼ tsp turmeric powder

⅛ tsp ashwaganda powder Feel free to omit if you don't have this.

Instructions

1Boil all ingredients together in a stovetop pan over medium-high heat.

2Once it is boiling, remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve, so the ginger gets taken out.

3Drink while it is hot. You can top with vegan whipped cream if you like (but traditionally in India, turmeric milk is not served with whipped cream).
