Hanukah Sufganiyot / Christmas Dessert Easy / Vegan Jelly Donuts Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups White flour

1 packet (8.75g) Yeast

¾ cup Almond milk (or any non-dairy milk)

1 Flax egg* (1 1/2 tbsp flax meal + 3 tbsp water)

⅓ cup Brown, coconut or granulated sugar

¼ cup Vegan butter melted

1 tsp Vanilla

2½ cups of vegetable oil for frying you could also bake them

1 cup Strawberry jelly**

½ cup Powdered sugar

½ cup Granulated sugar

Instructions

1Heat the almond milk for 1 minute in a microwave. It kind feels hot like a hot tub butt Ican put my finger in it but it is definitely warm.

2Add a little bit of sugar ( 1 tsp) and thepackage of yeast .The sugar is gonna help these to activate

3Mix together and then set it aside forabout 10 minutes until it rises. It shouldbe nice and foamy It’s like gotten bigger in size it’s risen so it’s activated.

4Add the melted vegan butter to a bowl, then the flax egg.*

5Then theactivated yeast, mix together then add the sugar and the all purposeFlour andvanilla extract.

6You can make the dough kneading with your hands or with the help of a stand mixture. Till you get nice smooth dough.

7Add a splashof vegetable oil on the dough ball to coat the dough so this way it doesn’t Dry outwhile rising. Cover with a dish towel and set aside for 1 hour so it doublesIt' size.(Nice and chubby).

8Dust someflour on the clean counter and slice the big dough into two halves.Cover again the half that you are not working on.

9Using a adusted flourrolling pin, so the dough doesn’t stick and start rollingIt out .You want it to be probably about half an inch thick .

10And you can repeat this process again with allthe leftover scraps. Use a masonjar lid or a buiscuit cutter  to cut outa bunch of circles.Then takethe scraps give it a little push together to make it back to a little ball dough.

11Once youhave them all cut out , cover again with a dish towel and leave them foranother20 minutesto rise a little bit more.

12After 20 minutes they woild rise and ready to be baked or deep fried .

13Preheat oven to 400°F/200°C. Brush doughnuts with oil, bake for8-10 min or until golden brown. When taking the doughnuts out of the ovenimmediately brush with another coat of oil.

14Heat 1” oil in aheavy-bottomed skillet to 360-370°F and fry donuts for 2-3 minutes per side,until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate to blot excess oil.

15Allow donuts tocool slightly while filling pastry bag with jam. Poke a hole in the side or topof your donut, then pipe about a tablespoon of jam/ Strawberry Jelly into each donut.

16Sprinkle with confectioners sugar before serving.
