Easy Apple Cider Recipe

🔪Prep Time: 20 mins
10 –12 medium apples quartered
2 peeled oranges quartered
4 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon whole cloves
1 star anise
1 small piece of ginger about ½ inch
16 cups water more or less
½ cup maple syrup
fresh orange slices and cranberries to garnish
1Combine all the ingredients in a slow cooker and add water.
2Heat the cider over high heat until it reaches a simmer. Then reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for about 2 hours
3Once the apple and orange are soft use a wooden spoon to the fruits
4Then cover and simmer for 1 more hour.
5Using strainer, strain out all of the solids and discard into the compost
6Add the maple syrup and stir a little.
7Garnish with fresh orange slices and cranberries and serve warm
