Vegan Leather was founded by a small team of 3 who want to make a positive change in the world. The lack of sustainability, and unnecessary cruelty that animals face has always been something that caused frustration within us - but what really led us to creating the brand Vegan Leather was seeing that vegan leather itself honestly looks just as good as regular leather, is cheaper and is completely sustainable! Upon seeing this, we realized that leather was just a trend because it has been the norm for hundreds of years. Just as our society evolved away from other outdated practices, it's time for us to step away from using unsustainable, cruel products. Our goal is to show people that they can achieve a desired look without having to wear animal skin to do so. Leather is a trend, and many people are stuck on the idea that they "need" real leather, but it's simply not true. If an alternative product looks and feels the same as leather, what legitimate reason can one give to wear animal based leather? That is our mission - creating incredible high quality products that are completely sustainable and cruelty free to show people that they don't need to support animal cruelty, environmental damage and unsustainable goods to achieve a look!

Dominic & Dempsey footwear is the essence of everyday living without compromising on style or comfort. The entire collection incorporates biodegradable materials and is 100% cruelty-free. Designed in Austin, Texas, and handmade in Mexico under fair wage agreements, and ethical production practices, in a 1958 warehouse. The collection is handcrafted using antique machinery and the best skilled craftsmanship.

Employees receive excellent wages, have health insurance, and paid vacations. LaBante is a labour of love, born out of a combined love of animals, fashion and the wider planet. My adolescent experiences definitely stuck with me and shaped the brand’s philosophy of Fashion With Respect. In my early teens I spent many happy hours in my uncle’s fashion company, watching the creation of beautiful garments for big name fashion brands and therein started my love of fashion. When I was a little older and studying at university, another pivotal moment shaped my future. I used to pass a butcher’s shop where animals were kept alive and caged before being killed in front of customers for their meat. It was a pretty transforming and life-changing event in my life and from that moment I became a vegetarian. After I finished my university degree I landed up in the United States and somehow got into banking for my career, but there was always a niggling thought in the back of my head that called me to combine my passion for vegetarianism and fashion. I believed there was a gap in the fashion industry to make high quality products that were not only beautiful and vied for, but were also cruelty free and sustainable at the same time being accessible. LaBante started out really small in 2012 but grew from strength to strength as we received so much positive feedback and love from vegans, vegetarians, animal lovers and fashionistas all over the world. As we continued to expand, we had the pleasure of meeting fashion buyers who understood that change was coming and that the future was about ethics and sustainability. Encouraged and inspired, our brand has flourished it’s my promise to you that we will continue to develop beautiful and stunning designs and provide you with a range of vegan accessories all made with love that we hope you will wear with pride!
